Dinner Tonight: Turkey Dogs

Baseball season is in full swing.  I love me some baseball!!  The best thing to eat while watching a game (at home or in a ball park) is without a doubt a killer hot dog.  This is just a reminder that some of the best week night meals, are the simplest.

Shopping List
good quality hot dog buns
Turkey Smoked Sausage (I like the Oscar Meyer variety), cut into four pieces
1 large onion, chopped
Ketchup, Relish, Mustard to garnish
Alexia Sweet Potato Fries (in the freezer department of your grocery store)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute onion in 2 tablespoons of EVOO until caramelized (about 10 minutes).  In a separate skillet or outdoor grill, cook turkey links over medium-high heat until warm and browned (about 7 minutes or so).

Place each sausage link in a bun, top with onions and garnish with desired condiments.  Serve with sweet potato fries (and maybe a green salad...oddly enough, it pairs really well with hot dogs.)

Dinner doesn't always have to be complicated, right?  Now, go turn on the TV and cheer for the Red Sox :).
